The following information outlines the Accelize policies related to internet-based advertising on its websites and related mobile sites and applications (the "Accelize Sites") currently engaged in interest-based advertising or that may engage in interest-based advertising in the future.
Accelize may, from time to time, show interest-based ads to display features, products, and services that might be of interest to users. Interest-based ads are also sometimes referred to as personalized or targeted ads. Accelize also permits some third parties to collect certain information about users to provide interest-based advertising.
In providing interest-based ads, Accelize Sites follow the Self-Regulatory Principles for Online Behavioral Advertising as developed by the Digital Advertising Alliance ("DAA"), a coalition of marketing, online advertising, and consumer advocacy organizations. More information about the DAA's guidelines can be found on its website.
To serve users interest-based ads, Accelize utilizes information from interactions with Accelize Sites, including content and services. Accelize does not use information which might independently identify a user, such as names or email addresses.
Accelize works with third parties, such as advertisers, publishers, social media networks, search engines, ad serving companies, and other advertising companies to improve the relevance of ads it serves. In providing users with interest-based ads, Accelize does not associate user interactions on unaffiliated sites with information which can independently identify them, such as name or email address, and Accelize do not provide any such information to advertisers or to third-party sites that display Accelize interest-based ads. Advertisers and other third parties may assume that users who interact with or click on an interest-based ad or content are part of the group that the ad or content is directed towards (for example, users in a particular geographical area or users who purchased or browsed for specific products). Some third-parties may provide Accelize with pseudonymized information about users (such as demographic information or sites where users have been shown ads) from offline and online sources that Accelize may use to provide more relevant and useful advertising.
Third party advertisers or advertising companies working on their behalf may also use cookies when delivering content (such as ads) directly to a user's browser or device, and may automatically receive an IP address when this happens. They may also use cookies to measure the effectiveness of ads, show users more relevant advertising content, and perform services on behalf of Accelize. For information on how to control and delete cookies (including third party cookies) please see the Accelize Cookies Policy.
Accelize offers users with choice as to how they receive interest-based ads. Users can choose not to receive interest-based ads from Accelize; they will still see ads, but the ads will not be based on the user's demonstrated interests. Users can adjust interest-based ad settings through the Accelize Portal.
Generally users are also able to opt out of receiving personalized ads from third party advertisers and ad networks which are members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI"), or who follow the DAA. More information is available through the respective NAI and DAA websites. For information on the advertising practices of websites and services offered by other Accelize companies, please review their interest-based ads policies and related notices.
6.1 Privacy Policy. The Accelize Privacy Policy contains detailed information about the ways Accelize Sites collect information, as well as the types of information collected.
6.2 Cookies Policy. Accelize may utilize cookies, tracking pixels, web beacons, and other technologies (collectively, "cookies"), which are common throughout the industry, to understand the effectiveness of the interest-based ads shown to users by measuring which ads are clicked or viewed, and to provide users with the most useful and relevant ads based on this data. For more information on Accelize's use of cookies, please refer to the Accelize Cookies Policy.
